The “Red Baron” flew both of a Fokker Dr.1 and an Albatros D.III during his career, he made 60 kills in the Albatros D III. This was the first of his planes to be painted red, and the one that earned him his name. During the latter part of his career he flew the red Fokker DR I triplane which was also painted red.
