Did the Red Army (Russia) really this way in WWII?

Well first off it wasn’t Russia in WWII it was the Soviet Union. Russia was only a republic in the USSR. The games you play show a somewhat accurate portrayal of Soviet soldiers in WWII. Prior to the start of WWII Hitler had made a pact with Stalin not to attack. When Germany broke this pact with their invasion the Soviets took it extremely personal and wanted nothing but the destruction of Germany for stabbing them in the back. The eastern front in WWII was no pleasant place. Both the Germans and Soviets slaughtered each other and often murdered prisoners of war because of the hatred between Fascist Germany and the Communist Soviet Union. So the passion you see in the games is very real however, it maybe amped up a little higher then what happened in real life. Then again it could have been toned down for the game.
