Did the protesters go too far in opposing the Chebucto Road construction?

The protestors didn’t go too far, and we are lucky to have people that care enough here to take a stand for what’s right. Halifax protestors in the 1960’s stopped the wrecking ball from tearing down Historic Properties to put in a highway, because they saw what a tragic mistake the government was making. Generations to come will benefit from their protests. Unfortunately, the Chebucto Road protestors weren’t able to stop this government injustice. Today, progressive cities across North America aren’t widening neighbourhood streets, but are implementing efficient modes of public transit. The street widening is a 1970’s solution to today’s traffic problems. Peter Kelly and councilors like Linda Mosher should open their eyes to what’s happening in the rest of the world. Hopefully they won’t be re-elected, because who knows how much more they will tear Halifax apart.
