Did the Omaha “Shooter” go there because Mall Policy prohibited anyone from carrying a concealed deadly weapon?”
The descriptions of the shooter available from news articles paints the 19 year old shooter as a messed up drug using kid with a history of violent threats. I don’t know how accurate that is but in general such individuals don’t bother to look up the local statutes on concealed weapons before going off the deep end. This kid had major issues. Most of the dead/injured were employees and customers of a particular store. He may have had an issue with that store or he may have focused there out of convenience. In either case I doubt seriously he considered gun laws before shooting the place up. The kid wanted to die. That being the case, if he did any research it would have been to find a place were someone else was likely to kill him, not an unarmed crowd. This is as ugly and senseless as it looks. There are no political statements here beyond another kid that someone failed to catch before life turned him inside out.
