Did the Obamas choose to attend the Evergreen CHapel at Camp David?
President Barack Obama has announced, according to Time Magazine, that his family will be regularly attending the Evergreen Chapel at Camp David. However, there are also reports that the Obamas have not settled on a new church yet. Will they, or won’t they be attending the Evergreen Chapel at Camp David? The Evergreen Chapel at Camp David was dedicated in 1991, during George H.W. Bush’s presidency. The chapel is primarily used by military personnel who are stationed at Camp David, along with their families. According to Time, President Obama told White House aides that the Obamas would attend the Evergreen Chapel at Camp David. Aides had been attending churches in the area, scoping them out to find one for the first family to attend. Andy Barrack over at the Christian Post mentioned how the President had previously told ABC that he did not want to be responsible for the disruption his family’s attendance would cause the church and its community. President Obama continues to search for a church despite an article claiming he’s settled on the small chapel at Camp David, a White House spokesman said Monday. Time magazine reported that the president, who since taking office has been searching for a place of worship in the Washington, D.C. area, has told aides that he will make Evergreen Chapel, the nondenominational church at Camp David, his primary church. “There have been no formal decisions about joining a church. When (the president) goes to Camp David, he has attended services at chapel there.
