.The Communists won due to several factors. 1. Chiang KaiShek was not a good leader and his mismanagement of the country led a lot of people to support the Communists. 2. No one really knew what Communism was, they just knew part of it meant killing the landlords and stealing thier money which was greatly appealing. 3. The Communist fought guerilla style, which generally meant for the common folk that they were never safe from the Communists and that they would be robbed anyway, so might as well join in the robbery. 4. There were many who prefered the Republic but the Communists were brutal and enlisted the lower classes, which meant more people and tougher people. All through the Mao era many many people still wished KaiShek hadn’t lost. But they were the “have’s”. Communism had nothing to do with Nationalism in China.
