Did the Jews displace the Arabs in Palestine in the early nineteen hundreds?
No. The land settled by Jewish immigrants was mostly uninhabited swamp and desert wasteland. The Jews purchased worthless inhospitable land from absentee Arab landowners at outrageous prices. The claim that anyone was displaced is simply not supported by history. For almost 1200 years, the region of Palestine was controlled by non-Arab Muslim entities including most notably the 402-year rule of the Turkish Ottoman Empire. Prior to the Turks, the Mamluks, Seljuks, and other non-Muslim entities ruled the land after the last Arab jurisdiction ended in 1099 A.D.
