Did the Jambo have chrome or black rocker trim?
The official sales brochure shows black rocker trim. However, every other Jambo picture we have shows chrome rocker guards. We believe that the original trim was black anodized aluminum and that the black has simply worn off over time. How was the limited supply of Jambos allocated? We are not sure. Capt. Pete does not believe any Jamboree was special ordered and that AMC made them all the same. Certain dealers got them as perks for good sales records. What happened to all of the Jambos? That is what we are trying to figure out! See the Jambo Registry. Is there a list of Jambo VIN numbers? We are not sure. Perhaps this could be dug up from Jeep? Where can I find Jambo hood decals? Tom Timbario (#418) had his made by Austin Jeeps (www.goldeneagledecals.com). Tom writes “[the decals were] a perfect match to the original.
