It sequenced the human genome fully and accurately, I’d say they accomplished what they set out to accomplish.

Yes and No. The human genome project did fully sequence the human genome (apart from a few small sections which aren’t important), BUT, the DNA is mostly that of a single male donor. It doesn’t reflect the inherent variability within the human race. Personally I worry that this means the DNA on record as the human genome will now become the ideal, or wild type DNA, and any deviations from the genes as recorded there will become a mutation, even if the deviation is the norm.
