Did the English language originate from England?

0

Yes. The English language began when in the 5th century Germanic tribes invaded the English islands, and came into contact with Celtic languages and Vulgar Latin. That became what is known as Old English. Old English was later influenced by the Norse language of the Viking invaders and the Norman French of the Norman invaders, and became what is known as Middle English. Later on, in Elizabethan times, it evolved in Early Modern English, so by the time the first settlers came to the Americas, Australia and South Africa, they already spoke Modern English. The regional varieties of American English, Australian English and South African English are not considered separate languages.
