It was discovered about three days ago. I first heard about it about a day and a half ago, when it was already determined that it would miss earth by about forty thousand miles. Small asteroid close calls don’t get much media attention. Most of the world is completely unaware that one struck our atmosphere back in October. “Crisis” might be a little bit extreme. It could certainly cause trouble for localized regions, this asteroid is about the same size and mass of the Tunguska “impact” of 1908, which may or may not be properly identified as a “F****** CRISIS” as you so eloquently described it.
