Did the B-52s play “Loveshack” at the CMT Music Awards?
Atlanta-based country duo Sugarland will be performing “Love Shack” with fellow Georgians The B-52s on the CMT Music Awards. This news comes on the heels of this morning’s announcement that Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush will release their first concert DVD, Live on the Inside, on August 4th in a Wal-Mart store near you. The hi-def show will be accompanied by a separate CD featuring live cuts of the duo’s infamous covers, including Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable,” Pearl Jam’s “Better Man,” Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire,” and — synergy! — “Love Shack.” Sources: http://music-mix.ew.com/2009/06/exclusive-sugarland-b52s.
Sugarland and B-52’s bring down the house with Love Shack on CMT Awards Kristian Bush hinted at the surprise during a radio interview Monday afternoon with WIVK-FM radio personality Gunner. On Tuesday night’s CMT Awards show broadcast the cat (or in this case the rock lobster) was out of the bag when rock icons and Georgia favorites the B-52’s joined Bush along with Sugarland partner Jennifer Nettles on stage at the Sommet Center in Nashville. The performance started with a country-flavored intro as Bush sang solo while Nettles walked casually onto center stage just in time to belt out the signature line “Looooove Shack!” Moments later the focus turned to the side stage where Athens, Georgia natives the B-52’s hit the spotlight and the song took a decidedly more traditional rock form.
