UM student, 20, dies in Amite drowning A University of Mississippi student and Fernwood resident died this morning after drowning in an auto accident in rural Amite County. * Susan Haskins, 20, daughter of Don and Barri Haskins of Fernwood, died after the pickup in which she was riding veered off the narrow Mary Wall Road bridge around 2 a.m. and landed upside down in the Amite River, according to chief sheriff’s deputy Ray Austin.
