Stanley Tookie Williams did not deserve to be executed. There wasn’t enough evidence to support his execution. The evidence against this man was circumstantial at best. Mr. Williams’ execution was symbolic I believe. It seems the state of California wanted to get the one up on gang violence by executing a man whose rise to fame was founding a violent street gang. The problem with this is that there are so many young men who were sent the message that there is no redemption. If Mr. Williams could change his life and do so much good for communities with his repentant behavior and still be executed what hope is there for a young man that is dealing dope on the streets. The message his execution sent was to not get caught doing whatever illegal activity you do because there is no forgiveness in the eyes of the law. I do not agree with those that think Mr. Williams should have been pardoned because it is quite obvious that he hurt a lot of people, but as long as he stayed alive he represent
