Did Spinosaurus feed exclusively on fish or did it eat other dinosaurs too?
Unless we were to find an intact specimen of a Spinosaurus with remains of its prey in the stomach, we can only speculate. Unfortunately we have never been able to find a complete specimen, and the first one that was discovered–which happened to be the most complete specimen–was destroyed during WWII. From the skull and jaw remains that we have unearthed, we know that the Spinosaurus had a long, pointy snout much like that of a crocodile. Which would be advantageous if it relied on fishing to obtain food. And this is one reason that paleontologists and scientists believe that fish was at the top of their menu. Spinosaurus was most likely an opportunistic predator. Its diet probably consisted primarily of fish, though finding an alternative source of prey on land probably wasn’t out of the question, either. The Spinosaurus is believed to have been the largest carnosaur to have existed, but it most likely did not prey on large animals. Their teeth had little to no serration, which sugg
