Did South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly cause Air France disaster?
12 Jun 09 Reader Jane Lawson wonders if the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly could have had anything to do with the recent Air France disaster. I honestly dont know. What I do know is that our planet is now experiencing the South Atlantic Anomaly.’ The anomaly is massive, it is growing, and if it continues on its present course, it could allow mutation-causing cosmic radiation ever closer to the earth’s surface. According to a 28 Nov 2008 article in Science Daily, a new Danish geomagnetic observatory located on the island of Tristan da Cunha will provide researchers with new knowledge of this mysterious irregularity of the earths magnetic field. Tristan da Cunha is the remotest inhabited island in the world and is also located right in the middle of the South Atlantic Anomaly, where the Earths magnetic field is weakest (only half as high as in Denmark). At present the strength of the Earths magnetic field is decreasing by 5% every hundred years and researchers do not know why or what th
