Here’s a conspiracy theory for you: All the spam that Skype users have been experiencing lately was a clever tactic used by and originating from none other than Skype’s new owners — all to get Ebay to unload Skype at terms much more favorable to the buyers. Give me another minute or two and I’ll figure out how aliens and/or North Korea are involved. But seriously, I find it interesting that in the same week Ebay sells off 65% of its stake in the peer-to-peer communication platform, the mountain of spam that’s been burying the WELDers and other users of the service seems to have abated.
