Did SHARE require people to camp at Tim Burgess house?
We reported on City Council Member Tim Burgess’ skepticism that everyone camping in front of his house did it of their own accord. “Several protesters told me they had to choose between sleeping on the street or participating in the protests since SHARE shut down their shelter,” Burgess wrote in his blog. Now Publicola is raising questions about SHARE’s definition of voluntary. SHARE required residents to participate in the camp-out protests as a condition of staying in the camp, according to a memo to campers. KOMO’s Martha Kang has a call in to Burgess about this.
