Did Saint Archangel Michael and other saints appear somewhere else before the Bible?
Most of the saints of the bible and early xian history were mythical or legendary. These days, some “real” saints are nominated for canonization for their good works, like Mother Teresa, Pope John XXIII, and the priest who was recently canonized for his work among people with leprosy. Then there are the “political” choices like Pius XII who is up for canonization. In his papacy he agreed to turn a blind eye to the Nazi persecution and killing of Jews in return for favors for the catholic church in Germany, like requiring catholic education in all German schools. After the war he helped many Nazi war criminals escape from Europe to South America. So I don’t put much stock in saints.
