Did Roger Barnett violate the civil rights of the illegal immigrants that are suing him?
Apprehending people in the act of breaking our laws should never be a crime. The illegals are people, true, but they are people breaking our laws. This means that they forfeit SOME of their rights. They technically have limited rights under the Constitution but are not eligible for the full privileges guaranteed by the Constitution because they are NOT citizens. All people are guaranteed basic human rights but the full rights that come with citizenship should only come by the lawful process guaranteed to LEGAL immigrants. No matter what terms we may use to describe these people it all come down to a objective term—ILLEGAL. It seems that the people who commit crimes have more rights that the victims.
