Did Rafa Benitez make a mistake there?
YES, Liverpool’s attacking threat was gone once Keane was substituted. I would have kept him on for the full 90 minutes, especially with Fernando Torres still out with an injury. Keane’s six years of playing with Spurs would have made him very useful for Liverpool. Although Woodgate and King would have known his weaknesses, Keane would also know theirs as well. Who knows, Keane might have provided another assist or even scored late in the game, like how he set Dirk Kuyt up for the goal in the third minute. His presence would have prevented the two centre-backs from going up front and taking advantage of their aerial power during set-pieces as well. That was a mistake on Rafa’s part, and it was the turning point of the game for me. SPEAKING of which, were Liverpool complacent yesterday morning, or is their luck finally running out? I THINK Liverpool were unlucky, rather than complacent. Jamie Carragher was especially unlucky to score that own goal, and Steven Gerrard was unfortunate not
