Did Plains Indians Tame Horses Before Or After The Colonies Wher Established?
The Spanish brought horses to North America in the 1500: Before Jamestown (1607)and before Plymouth Rock (1612). No doubt a few horses escaped the Spanish picket lines or stolen by the Plains Indians, but they didn’t get any real access to horses until 1680. After that, stealing and trading horses became very much a part of the Indian way.
