Did people travel abroad in victorian times?
Most people who made trans Atlantic type trips were immigrants, not people on vacations. Only the very wealthy who had months to spend could do that. Of course, British people may have possibly gone to France or Germany, that would not have taken as long, but again, the wealthy, maybe the nobles, because German and English nobles were one big, sometimes unhappy family. In America people did not usually travel to Europe, although there were exceptions. Most Americans just went farther west instead of across the ocean.
