Staten Island Yankees’ Opening Day rained out Opening Day festivities at the Ballpark at St. George will have to wait at least another day, as Saturday night’s game with the Brooklyn Cyclones has been rained out. According to the Staten Island Yankees web site, www.SIYanks.com, the game will be made up as part of a single-gate doubleheader Friday, July 10, at 6 p.m. (gates open at 5) when the Cyclones are back on Staten Island. According to the Yanks: “All tickets for Saturday June 20th may be exchanged for any other Staten Island Yankee game during the 2009 regular season for a ticket of equal or lesser value. All exchanges are subject to availability.” For instructions on redeeming your tickets, visit the Staten Island Yankees on the web or call the box office at 718-720-9265, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during all home games. Come out to the ballgame for an alumni Opening Day tradition at The Richmond County Ballpark, located at 75 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY. Gates open at 6:00pm. All kids 12 and under can run the bases after the game. There will be a spectacular post-game fireworks show too. Tickets can be reserved in two ways: $25 Picnic Deck Seating: all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, soda, and water, located down the right field line (food and drink will be served from 6:30pm to 8:00pm) or $5 General Admission Seating: no food or drink included.
