The so called satellite didn’t make it into orbit and ended up in the ocean. If their intent was to send a satellite into orbit, it was a failure for that reason. The 3 stage rocket worked somewhat successfully, and for the reason of testing an ICBM, they could say it was a success. They are still years behind in technology in capability to deliver a nuclear weapon by missile, due to the weight of a bomb. Their inability to miniaturize a nuclear bomb at this point is good, because it must be smaller in size if it is to be launched by rocket. They lied about the satellite reaching orbit because many countries watched very close, and whatever was in the rockets head, is now at the bottom of the ocean.
