Did my mothers fatal car accident happen for a reason?
I’m sorry you’ve had to experience this loss. Its tragic to lose anyone we love. I do not believe in accidents. This does not mean I believe everything is God’s fault, either. Particularly with auto accidents, there is usually some under-lying negligence (or more intent) which caused the accident. God gives mankind free will, including the ability to kill ourselves and others with our carelessness. Where God comes in is how the situation can be used for our own or someone else’s good–but I think even that is our choice, to see it that way or not. God promised believers that He would work all things together for good in Romans 8:28, and I believe it is not promising that life will always be good or fair or that it is God’s fault when it isn’t.
