Did Matrixx Initiatives recall Zicam?
Matrixx Initiatives, Zicam’s manufacturer, announced June 16 that it would voluntarily withdraw two of its products from the market: Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel and Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs. The withdrawal is not a formal nationwide recall. The FDA says until the products’ labeling carry warnings about the risk of anosmia and submit a new application to the FDA, the products will be pulled from stores. Matrixx indicated it could still announce a recall in coming days.
