Did Lizzie Borden really do it?
I have visited the house and I also believe she did it. Did you know people pay to spend the night in the house now? It’s a bed and breakfast! Three things that convinced me other than opportunity and they all revolve around motive: First off, her father had plenty of money but refused to spend a dime on anything, including extra household help – something that was quite cheap at that time. Second, the step-mother treated her like a scullery maid. Third, modern psychiatrists have stated that the manner in which the father was hacked to death was common for a child enraged over sexual abuse. Weird fact: At the house there is a picture on display of the twelve male jurors who acquitted her. We were told that the jurors had the picture taken of them and sent it to LIzzie after the trial. Now THAT’S odd. Many people think that the jurors didn’t convict her because they couldn’t imagine that an innocent Victorian young lady could do such a thing. My theory: I think they knew she did it but
