Sure did! Just watch the movie starring Faye Wray (sp?). Note the scale of King Kong when he is captured on the island, and if you have ever SEEN the real Empire State building, you will realize King Kong at least tripled in size, maybe MORE or he would not have been big enough and had the arm reach to climb the building as they show.
