The Golden Globes, unlike the Academy Awards, split the awards for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Motion Picture into best performances in Drama and Comedy. The awards for Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture, however, are not split that way. (In addition, the Golden Globes also make these awards for television programs and mini-series, unlike the Academy Awards, which are just for films.) Kate Winslet was up for two of the 2009 awards, Best Actress in a Drama and Best Supporting Actress, and won both of them.
