Did Julius Caesar make rome wealthy?
His conquest of Gaul added to the overall wealth of Rome by way of booty and indemnities…though he did flood the market with slaves. His exploits as a military leader brought him favor in the eyes of the commoner too. But more than that, the common person liked Caesar because they felt they could identify with him. One of the nobility, still he took up the cause of the populist (whether from sincere belief or political expendiency is debatable…I say he was sincere).
