Did Joseph Smith say that ALL churches and their members are corrupt, abominable, and in error?
Actually it was God that said it and He was not saying it was the believers in Christ that were wrong and corrupt, it was their false teachers (Jude 1:4; 2 Pet. 2:1) and extrabiblical creeds (2 Tim. 4:3-4) that led them astray. Why were they in error? God said “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” This message from God, given through Joseph Smith, was made up principally of scriptural quotes from Isaiah 29:9-18 and 2 Timothy 3:1-5 concerning the last days. Paul’s words are revealing: “in the last days perilous times shall come.
