Did joseph ever get his leg over with mary once gabriel had his go?
Some Christians believe Mary had more children with Joseph after Jesus was born. Others believe she was a virgin her whole life. There was one of the apocrypha (books left out of the New Testament) that described the childhood and life of Mary. According to this book she was raised in a monastery (and fed by angels!), and when she was 14 she was given to Joseph as a wife. Joseph was an old man, a widower with grown children, and the idea was that Mary would remain a virgin after he married her. This book (I forget the name of it but I could look it up) had Jesus being born in a cave outside Bethlehem. Midwives were called but came late, and when they arrived Jesus had already been born. The midwives examined Mary and were surprised to find that she was still a virgin, so the birth was unexplainable.
