Did Johnny ever run into “fans” from his Mr. Bass Man days?
Johnny was probably the most affable star I’ve ever known. Whenever someone recognized him or his name, he would take time to talk with them, sign autographs, take pictures, whatever they wanted. Q. What did Johnny like to listen to – was there a songwriter he admired? Both Johnny and I, and George for that matter, really loved country rock as well as acts like Van Morrison, The Doors, Ronstadt, Dirt Band and a lot of acts that we’d go to see at the Whiskey and the Troubador and a few other clubs.
