Did Jim Morrison play an instrument?

When Jim was a young child he played the piano. This only lasted for a few months. Jim’s parents, and him (when he was older) said he was not interested enough to stay committed to it, but occasional, when backstage, he would play little improves on it. Later on in interviews, Jim told the interviewer that the piano was a very hard instrument to play and has a lot of respect towards people who do so. Around 1968ish someone came to help “keep Jim out of trouble” so Jim started learning to play the guitar. Again, he lost his interest and stopped playing, but yet again he spoke of his respect for people who can do that well. I’m not sure if you consider it an instrument or not, but Jim played the maraca during most live songs. Jim was much more of a poet than a musical person, so that is probably to blame for his lack of interest in instrumental things.
