Did Jesus tell us to forget the Sabbath but remember the first day of the week?

Jesus identified Himself as Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8) and spoke out against those who treated the sabbath as a legal measure of a person’s spirituality (Mat 12:9-12). He did not instruct us to forget anything but this is what He told us to remember – Lot’s wife, the words He spoke to the disciples, His warnings of being thrown out of the synagogue and being persecuted, and His miracles that warned of the yeast of hypocrisy. (Luke 17:32, John 15:20 & 16:4, Mark 8:18) Above all else we are to remember why He sacrificed His life and to commemorate that event with communion (the first communion taking place on a Tuesday evening). That makes the answer to your question, No on both counts.
