DID JESUS EXPERIENCE ABANDONMENT ACCUSATIONS AS HE MOVED TOWARD JERUSALEM FOR THE SAKE OF MANKIND?
Most of Jesus family and close associates did not understand Him when He talked about going to Jerusalem to fulfill His ultimate goal of death for the sins of the world. There were feelings and declarations of abandonment from those closest to Him. From the time which Jesus, at the age of twelve, forsook His dad and mom to minister in the temple until He went to Calvary, forsaking His family and associates, no one understood that Jesus was simply going for their sake. Jesus Himself suffered feelings of abandonment by God His Father when from the cross He cried out, My God, My God, why have You forsaken me? Many times during the ministry of Jesus, people felt that Jesus had abandoned them when in effect He had moved to higher ground, to the mountain tops or wherever to receive from God that which He needed for their sake. Jesus, the Son of God needed to move with God, forsaking people and situations, in order to receive Kingdom of God power to meet the needs of the very ones whom He had
