Did it at least help that you had brought Lyra Belacqua to life in the film first?
Produced by New Line Cinema and Scholastic Media, The Golden Compass follows the screenplay adaptation of the first book in the acclaimed His Dark Materials trilogy. The fantasy film is set in a parallel world where giant armored bears rule a kingdom, beautiful witches fly through the frozen skies, and human beings’ deepest essence is manifest as talking animals that remain their faithful companions for life – their daemon. Daniel Craig, who’s just signed on for three more James Bond films, stars as Lord Asriel. Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman plays Marisa Coulter, and Ian McKellen provides the voice of Iorek Byrnison. Fans of the film will be able to see the likenesses of the film’s cast in the game, but only Dakota Blue Richards provided voice work for both projects. New Line, which knows a thing or two about trilogies, has plans to bring the next two books to the big screen-as long as the fans of the book flock to theaters to support this first adaptation.
