Did helen go with Paris consensually, of her own accord??
Yes and no. She was seduced by Paris with the help of the goddess Aphrodite, who brought with her the gods Eros (Love), Himeros (Desire) and Peitho (Persuasion). I guess she didn’t have much of a chance with all that divine fire-power. So Helen, against her better judgement, eloped with Paris. A lovely poem by the Greek author Colluthus tells the story of the seduction of Helen in some detail.
