Did god want Adam and Eve to eat the apple?
God does not condone sin in any way. Neither does He tempt anyone to do evil. In the Garden God placed the Tree of Life, and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God created man, and He formed Eve from Adam’s rib to be a helpmate, not a curse. God created the animals, including the serpent. God created all angels. God made the angels to be good, not evil in any way. He gave them a free will to follow God. Satan became possessed of his own beauty and knowledge, and decided to rebel against God. God did not make him evil. Also other angels decided to follow Satan in his rebellion. God cast Satan and his followers from heaven to earth. In the garden, Satan came and possessed a serpent to talk with Eve to tempt her. God also made man and woman to have the free will to choose God. Eve followed Satan’s deception, and gave Adam the fruit to eat, which he did. By eating the fruit, they received full knowledge of what is good and what is evil.
