According to Genesis God created light and darkness before the first day.

I think there was already darkness and he created light. Darkness is the absence of light. Evil is the absence of good.

Well the definition of darkness is lack of light. A different way to look at it is that light is just a narrow portion of the various wave lengths of energy, so even when it is “dark” there can me massive amount of energy around. Still though, if there is no energy, it is “dark”. Basically God creating light and dark shows a complete ignorance of fundamental physics and is what we would expect of bronze age human writers.

Yes darkness was here first and that’s when God created light.

You need both. God is beyond light and darkness. Darkness is transformed by Christ consciousness/ the divine light of Christ. Light is the Holy Spirit, the highest protection for mankind and also indicates the concern for right action for the welfare of the World. Your interest in the darkness reflects your own need for the security of the Christ consciousness in your ignorance of right versus wrong action. The light of the Holy Spirit with Christ consciousness offers the highest protection while also helping in your Soul transformation. You need both light and darkness and there is no reason to fear one over the other. Surely wisdom is like the sun, revealing the supreme truth to those whose ignorance is dispelled by the wisdom of the Self. Meditating on the Divine, having faith in the Divine, concentrating on the Divine and losing themselves in the Divine, their sins dissolved in wisdom. He who knows and lives in the Absolute remains unmoved and unperturbed; he is not elated by pleas
