Did Galileo ever drop his balls from the Leaning Tower of Pisa?

If you are refering to his experimentation that objects do not fall in proportion to their weights, were he rolled lead weights of different sizes off the tower and recorded them striking the ground at the same time, then yes, it did happen. If you were refering to his nuts, well, later in life, he DID stand up to the Roman Catholic Church and the inqusition, two of the most powerful and feared institutions of the time. Standing up to an organization that strong takes a pretty hefty pair. So not only did Galileo appear to still have his balls, his were apparently made out of solid brass.
