Yes, FileMaker Pro 7 introduced an improved plug-in architecture. We refer to the pre-FileMaker 7 architecture as the classic API and the new FileMaker Pro 7 architecture as the native API. NOTE: the plug-in architecture is the same for FileMaker Pro 8 and 8.5.
