Did FDR know about Pearl Harbor in advance?
They did not know that the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbor in advance, the diplomatic intel(which they had 100% broken) told them that a break in relations was imminent and the military intel(which they only had 10% broken) told them that a move was being made into indochina area. They did not have intel that told them that an attack on Pearl Harbor or the Phillippines was imminent. If they had known and wanted a war, having all of the ships out of the harbor and the defensive fighters up in the air waiting to jump on the attacking Japanese would have done it without getting all of those people killed.
