Erin Donahue from Haddonfield, NJ finished second in the U.S. Olympic track and field trials to earn a trip to Beijing for the Olympics for the Women’s 1500m. But, sadly, she didn’t win the event. Kenya’s Nancy Jebet Langat won the gold medal in the women’s 1500 metres at the Bird’s Nest stadium on Saturday in a time of four minutes 00.23 seconds. Erin ran in the second heat of the semi-finals, with a time of 4:16.05 and was in contention until the closing stages but faded to eighth.
