Did Erdrick fight the Dragonlord?
According to a booklet that came with the NES version of Dragon Warrior Erdrick fought the Dragonlord. Many in Alefgard believe this story, but it is a myth, similar to how George Washington chopped down a cherry tree. Many years after the Dragonlord was defeated some told stories about how Erdrick returned to Alefgard to defeat the Dragonlord then disappeared (drawing many to the assumption that he fought the Dragonlord). The myth was actually created by confusion dealing with Ortega who did disappear after venturing to defeat the Archfiend, Zoma. The Dragonlord actually attacked Alefgard 100 years after Erdrick saved the worlds, so this would be impossible. Even if it was possible it would make no sense that he would leave his own great battle gear behind, get to Charlock without the rainbow bridge, and leave his tablet to help his descendant.
