The semi-retired slugger’s wife filed for separation in Los Angeles County, in the first possible step toward striking out their 11 1/2-year union. Elizabeth Bonds seeks joint custody of their 10-year-old daughter Aisha Lynn Bonds. The wife checked “irreconcilable differences” and asked for spousal support in the pro-forma application. She didn’t elaborate on reasons behind the split the papers she filed on Friday. Barry Bonds has been living in Beverly Hills since he last played for the San Francisco Giants in 2007. After Bonds broke the all-time home run record, the team didn’t resign him and no other club picked up the disgraced slugger. Bonds has 762 round-trippers but never escaped the cloud of accusations that he used performance-enhancing drugs.
