Did Donny Osmond really win Dancing With the Stars?
Entertainer Donny Osmond has won the final of US television show Dancing With The Stars, beating singer Mya and Kelly Osbourne. The 51-year-old won with an Argentine tango performed with professional dancing partner Kym Johnson. Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy and Sharon, was the first finalist to be eliminated from the show – the US version of Strictly Come Dancing. Lady Marmalade singer Mya had been the favourite to win the ninth series. The pop star said she was “just so happy to make the finals” after failing to lift the programme’s glitter ball trophy. ‘Artistry in motion’ Osbourne, who was supported by her parents and brother Jack in the audience, was emotional after her last dance and said she had “grown so much” during the show. The consummate entertainer upset the show’s highest scorer of the season, Mya, to take the win on season nine of “Dancing With the Stars” on a finals show in which he also got behind the mike to belt out “Puppy Love.” The Osmond brother’s vocal turn came as ousted competitor Louis Vito put in his requisite comeback dance, as all the season’s competitors did on a show that was packed with distractions to fill the two hours building up to the announcement of the winner.
