Did Dinosaurs Invent the Stay-at-Home Dad? Monday December 22, 2008 Want an easy way to impress the heck out of any preschooler out there? Tell them you have a lot in common with dinosaur dads. According to this story in the Washington Post, paleontologists have determined that at least three kinds of dinosaur males the troodon, oviraptor and citipati tended to their nests. The scientists say that the females needed a lot of nutrition to produce large quantities eggs and would have spent a good amount of time away from the nests looking for food, thus requiring the set up. So, the research suggests, these dinosaurs were likely the first stay-at-home dads. (And Im guessing the meat-eaters probably didnt have to answer any masculinity questions.)
