Danielle Rae Fleming, 20, of Clemson died at the hospital, but the cause of her death has not been determined, said Kandy Kelley, the Pickens County coroner. At least one Clemson resident who was with her at a party was told by state health officials to take precautionary steps against meningitis. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is still testing to determine her cause of death. Preliminary indications from the health department show that Fleming probably had bacterial meningitis, said John Gouch, a Clemson University spokesman.
